A Child's Christmas in Wales
Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Actor Colin Lane and musician Becca Zaretzky offer a dramatic presentation of Dylan Thomas' well-loved Christmas classic.
One Christmas was so much like another, in those years around the sea-town corner now and out of all sound except the distant speak-ing of the voices I sometimes hear a moment before sleep, that I can never remember whether it snowed for six days and six nights when I was twelve or whether it snowed for twelve days and twelve nights when I was six….
Originally written for radio, Dylan’s poem is told from the view-point of a young child and celebrates Christmases past, portraying a nostalgic and simpler time. It is one of Thomas' most popular works.
The whole family is invited to enjoy this special holiday event. There is no charge, but please bring a non-perishable food item to donate.
